As I get older I realize the value of a good eye cream. I mean a REALLY good eye cream! I’ve tried them all in the search for eternal youth…the cheap and the budget breaking, high end stuff. I have to say the ones that I’ve found that work best are usually the ones I can’t afford. Then I started reading the ingredients list. What the heck is:
“Imidazolidinyl Urea, Triethanolamine(TEA) and Diethanolamine (DEA)“? These are just a few of the things listed that I can’t even pronounce, do I really want to rub that on my face?? It seems that more and more chemicals are finding their way into items we use daily.
In my continued search for a youthful appearance, healthier alternatives and a way to save my wallet, I decided to make my own eye cream and as a bonus it won’t be loaded with artificial ingredients and dangerous chemicals. I experimented a bit and found a combo that I LOVE. I really like serums better than creams, they just seem to glide on my skin smoother and moisturizes so nicely, but the best thing about this recipe…is that I know exactly what is in it!
Here’s it is:
1/8 tsp jojoba
1/8 tsp Vitamin E
1/8 tsp Borage oil
Mix the above with coconut oil till you get the consistency you desire. I like at least 2 parts coconut oil.
You can microwave the coconut oil just for a few seconds till its liquefied so it mixes with the oils nicely.
See, easy peasy!
